Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Bain.
Kathryn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was once an avid reader and television watcher, brimming with ideas that inspired someone to suggest I write a book. My first attempt was terrible, but it sparked a passion. I joined writers’ groups, took classes, and honed my craft. In 2011, I signed my first book deal for my novel “Breathless”, which was published in 2012.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My path to writing has been full of challenges. Marketing is the toughest hurdle for me. Social media is key for sales today, but it’s daunting for someone like me who is technologically challenged. After much effort, I’ve found success through targeted ads and selling at craft festivals.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I write clean mystery and suspense fiction, with some works incorporating Christian themes.
What matters most to you?
My faith is deeply important to me. My faith shapes my values, guides my creative work, and provides a moral compass for my stories.
