Today we’d like to introduce you to Julianne Gabriel.
Hi Julianne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started making YouTube videos when I was in middle school at the age of 13!
I would film “back to school” clothing hauls, makeup tutorials, and travel vlogs throughout high school. Following that, I started taking content creation more seriously on Instagram, which has become my main platform.
I’ve always had a passion for creating content and sharing what I love with others. I’ve been able to work with some amazing brands that I have admired growing up and I am so grateful for this journey I am on!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish I could say that it has been a smooth road, but nothing in life is perfect.
I’ve dealt with a lot of judgment from others, especially when I was just starting out. In high school, it was seen as such an “odd” thing to be taking pictures and filming my everyday life. It is more common now, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any struggles to be found.
Comparison has been my biggest struggle as a creator by far. From numbers to the quality of content, it’s really hard to not focus on these aspects. Even now, I am still reminding myself to focus on my own journey and have patience. It’s not all about the numbers and it never was when I started this path.
Creating content makes me unexplainably happy and that’s the reason I’ve done it for almost 10 years now!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
On my platform, I create fashion, lifestyle, and beauty content to share with my audience of over 1,500+ followers. As a digital content creator, I am able to connect with other creators and brands ranging from small businesses to large corporate companies.
I have worked with brands such as NARS Cosmetics, CeraVe, Glow Recipe, and many more to create unique content that highlights the specific products chosen by the brand. The content I create ranges from product photographs to short videos (Instagram Reels or TikTok videos).
Out of everything, I am most proud of my “day in my life” mini vlogs! It’s so fun to edit all of the clips and put them into a 10-second video that recaps my day.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned as a creator is to always be authentic. As digital creators, we have the power to decide what we want to share to our audience. We choose what we want others to see and a lot of times it’s much easier to highlight all the happy moments in life. It’s much easier to be able to filter out all of the bad moments, but that’s not realistic.
Everyone has bad days. Some can be harder than others, but bad days are part of life. Bad days are what teach us the most valuable lessons we will ever learn.
I always want my audience to know that they are never alone in what they’re going through and that they always have someone rooting for them. Being able to be vulnerable and authentic online has allowed me to create some beautiful connections with amazing people. In return, I have gotten so much love and support. I am forever grateful for this!
