Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Masters.
Hi Jason, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2009, I got serious about my relationship with God in my last year of college. As I served and truly followed Jesus, I ended back in Jacksonville, FL. I married the love of my life three years later and went to work as a youth pastor for a great man of God.
It wasn’t long after working for him, that he gave Tiffany and I an invitation into planting and starting our own church. In February 2013, we started what is now known as Bold City Church. Here we are eight years later, still serving faithfully the people in the community that I grew up in for the glory of God.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been smooth or easy by any means. One of the major hurdles is learning to navigate your own personal emotions, others’ expectations of you, and your divine calling. It’s been far from easy but has been absolutely amazing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I pastor people. I specialize in taking difficult things and making them practical and easy to understand. I am known for authenticity and relatability. I believe both of those are why people let me pastor them.
What are your plans for the future?
We just had baby #4 November 4th, so I’m looking forward to enjoying the family through the holidays. Beyond that I’m working on getting a permanent facility for Bold City Church, continuing to build our ministry school, prioritizing reaching middle school students in 2022, and launching our men’s discipleship ministry.
