Hi Devola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story Today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My Background: When I was in preschool, my favorite time of day was when I was allowed to draw and paint. As I got older, this love never faded, and eventually, I studied culinary arts after that and stuck with it. Art is my passion for many reasons. I later decided to continue my passion for art and the gift of versatility. Being a self-taught artist enables room for endless opportunities! – MedicatedSista
My Beginnings: I decided to continue my passion for art and the gift of versatility in the year of 2017. That year drew me closer to my passion for art as a form of therapy.
My Favorite Work: At the end of the day, the work I enjoy the most is when the client feels connected to my commissioned pieces or collections. I enjoy working with abstract, acrylics, mixed mediums, wood burning, epoxy molding, and digital Illustrations. Art brings me joy and peace.
My Life Today: I’m lucky to be doing what I love as my profession. This job allows me to meet interesting new people. Artistic life for me today continues to grow and flourishing.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As an artist, you have challenges that may come. I pray for my creative spirit to flow freely from God! As many may have lost loved ones since 2020. I, too, have lost my Grandma, my Fur Son (Dog), my Dad, and many others close to me. It has allowed me to use art as therapy! Nothing but blessings from the universe and God until the end of my time to assist with any sorrow or pain. – MedicatedSista

I’m a self-taught artist, illustrator, and author. I enjoy working on all things art. Freely fluid in abstract and afro art.
What do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc.?
I specialize in abstract art. I use digital Illustrations as well. I recently accomplished becoming a children’s book author.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud artist residency at Zsa Zsa Lapree Art Gallery, located at 2525 North Main Street. I’m proud of stepping out on faith. Also, creating NFT’s and Children Books. Working on new ventures for my brand.
