Hi Deanna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi everyone! This is Deanna Dinh and Angela Laya, co-owners of Aligned Events! We had a yearning to live the best of both worlds: to care for those in need with our knowledge and healing hands, while using the same brain power and hands to create lifelong memories through events. The stars aligned to create Aligned Events after we worked together for a family members bachelorette party! We realized that we worked well together and shared a passion for creating, so we decided to take the leap and start an event planning/coordinating business! Our passion comes from thinking of the joy our decor and planning provides our clients and their loved ones. There’s truly nothing more rewarding than knowing that we get to be part of your special day!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Learning the ins and outs of starting a business is usually a bumpy road. Along the way, extensive research is done, lessons are learned, and the journey to success continues. Some struggles we’ve experienced along the way include learning how to structure a business. Learning how to create packages/pricing, researching liability, and bookkeeping are some examples. The business is constantly growing and ever changing. It can be a lot to keep up with, but they wouldn’t want anything else!

Aligned Events Co is a partnership between Deanna Dinh and Angela Laya. We definitely would consider our line of work to be on the creative side. Aligned Events provides help to clients who are in the market for celebrating! We specialize in event planning, event coordinating, and decor design/rental. Though you don’t ever need a reason to throw a party, they do lots of birthdays, showers, and weddings!
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
The best way to find a mentor and network is to put yourself and your business out there! Be unashamed of what you do and be confident in your work. Reach out to people in the industry, let your family and friends know about your business, and even offer free/low cost services. You truly have to believe in yourself and go out of your comfort zone sometimes!
