Today we’d like to introduce you to Coakley Taylor.
Hi Coakley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I created Pathways to Flourish because I saw how scary and complicated talking about mental health can feel especially when people don’t see themselves reflected in traditional spaces. Mental health is real, it’s personal, and it affects everyone, not just certain demographics. That stigma that it’s only for ‘some people’ is simply not true.
As part of the Gen Z community, we understand that mental wellness looks different for everyone. Healing isn’t one size-fits-all. It can come through therapy, community, creativity, faith, movement, conversation, or simply being heard.
I wanted to build a space where people feel safe to be honest about what they’re going through without judgment, shame, or pressure. A place where vulnerability is respected and support is accessible and available. I created Pathways to Flourish to connect REAL people to REAL resources that fit their lives and their financial situations, so help doesn’t feel out of reach. Mental Health and Wellness is a lifestyle, as we grow each day we face many transitions. My goal is to remind people that they are not broken, they are not alone, there are people who can meet you where you are, and there are people who may have been in the same situations….
This isn’t just a platform to me, It’s about empowering people to grow, heal, and truly flourish.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Mental health has long been framed as something women seek out more often, and men are often conditioned to suppress their emotions or some view vulnerability as a weakness. Even if the space is welcoming, some men hesitate to say, ‘Yes, I would attend this’ because they don’t see themselves represented or feel like it’s designed for them.
Part of Pathways to Flourish mission and my goal as the founder has been breaking that perception and showing that mental health support is for everyone, regardless of gender. Men go through life transitions, challenges, and frustrations too, and they deserve a space where they feel included and understood.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My studies in Health Administration gave me a strong understanding of healthcare systems and program design, my experience as a Lead Mental Health Program Analyst taught me how to oversee and evaluate mental health initiatives in real-world settings, and my Project Management skill set provided the skills to plan, organize, and execute effectively. Combining all of my techniques and knowledge has allowed me to build Pathways to Flourish into a structured, inclusive, and sustainable platform where people can feel supported and empowered in their mental health journey. What sets me apart is that I want to see real change, and I want to create spaces where mental health support is relatable, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. I don’t just want programs to exist I want people to actually feel seen, heard, and empowered to use them. Pathways to Flourish reflects that mission, combining my experience, education, and skills with a focus on breaking stigma and making mental wellness approachable for all.
How do you define success?
Feeling and seeing my hard work pay off, real time facial expressions, and feedback of attendees mentioning they walked away with something valuable from the experience of Pathways to Flourish.
