Check Out Ashley Allen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Allen

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My creativity started a young age. At age 12, I taught myself how to create beats because I loved hip-hop. At that same age, I begin to write raps to go along with the beats I created. My love for music and just creating grew from there. Until this day, I write music and love the talent I see in the city. I got into acting in 2022. Although I started my acting career rather recently, the passion that I have for acting is immeasurable. I have been honored to grace the sets of talented directors and writers. I have worked with incredible actors and actresses that have taught me ways to elevate my performances. I have had the pleasure to star in a film, and have supporting roles on other films, shows and web series.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth as Rocky Road ice cream. I can only speak for myself, but I struggled a lot with finding my identity as an artist in a city that is flooded with talent. Ultimately through time, experience and self-reflection, I was able to find my identity and one that aligned with who I truly am as a person. I applied this same mindset to the roles I audition for, and the projects that I am a part of. I align myself with those that have deeper meanings and messages. Having a child at the young age of 20 was also a big struggle for me, especially when the goals I had didn’t involve a child. Fortunately I was blessed with an amazing daughter who motivated me to push myself further and harder. I used to take her to my studio sessions with me and she was the absolute best!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist and actress. What I am known for honestly depends on who you ask. Most people in the city know me originally as a rap artist. There was a point in time that I was constantly recording and performing at venues. Recently, I pivoted more into acting. Some may recognize me in a few movies that are streaming on Prime and Tubi. I am most proud of my performance in “Badge of Betrayal”. This was my first starring role and it has received amazing feedback. I am different from others because anything from music production to graphic design to acting, I am well versed in all of it.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe in alignment. Things always work out or don’t work out as they should. When the time is right, the things that were meant for you will come to fruition.
