Check Out Anne Garrett’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Garrett.

Anne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always been drawn to real estate, even as a young girl I remember cutting out homes from magazines and glueing them into my own notebook to create my idea of a perfect home. Marshall University became home to me as I completed my graduate degree in Education, but real estate was still in my heart. Next came motherhood and all of the demands sweet babies bring, so I put my dreams on the back burner for a while so that I could focus on that time with my children. In 2020 my kids were school age and I decided it was time to pursue something I had been passionate about for so long and took the plunge into real estate. My papa always told me to find a job I love and I will never work a day in my life, and that saying holds true for me more than ever as I am so fulfilled in my career. My family has been a huge support system, especially my mom. In the beginning of 2024 we got the most devastating news, she was diagnosed with cancer – melanoma that had already spread to her lungs. My mom was my best friend, my daily confidant, support, and sounding board, The entire world stopped and our lives forever changed. She fought as hard as she could, but the late stage diagnosis was too much and after a really trying time she passed in August of 2024. It is something that could never be put into words, but the best way I can describe it is being crushed as low as you can imagine and wondering how you will ever pull yourself up and continue to live. Thankfully I have an incredible family, friends that lifted me up when I could not do it myself, and a career that brought customers into my life that have shown me life can still go on and happiness will find its way of seeping in when you least expect it. Real estate is so much more than a career to me, it is about relationships and the way people around us lift us up in ways we did not even know we needed. There are times when I see my mom in my life, in my kids, and in the doors that have opened up for me. Kelli Allen approached me with the possibility of joining the incredible team she had formed and to be honest, I was shocked that she would see the potential in me during a time I felt I was at my worst. Our team, Kelli Allen Homes in Amelia Island, has filled the pieces of my heart both professionally and personally. There are still really hard days, but finding my way forward in my career with the most supportive team fills me with so much hope for the future. There are still big things ahead for us, and the customers that come into our lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, but mistakes and challenges are always opportunities to learn. One of my biggest struggles has been internal, believing in myself and going after my dreams without limiting myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a real estate agent and I specialize in the Fernandina Beach area. I assist buyers in new construction homes, single family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and vacant land.

I am known for my attention to detail, organization, and timeliness.

I am most proud of myself for walking by faith into this new career and not letting obstacles stop me from doing my very best for my customers in each transaction.

Our team is set apart because no task is too small for us to tackle, we go above and beyond for our customers. We truly believe that whatever we do needs to be done with all our might and we strive to make transactions as seamless as possible, professionalism with caring hearts.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I do not really put any stock in luck. I think things are meant to be, and the exact people come in and out of our lives at the exact right time.
