Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Brooks.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Southern Grace adventure first began in 2011 when I accepted a job with a wonderful wedding planning company which was originally based out of Atlanta, Georgia. I quickly discovered just how passionate I was for this crazy, whirlwind of an industry and by 2012 I was thrilled to launch Southern Grace Events.
Fast forward to 2016 when I met the Chandler’s who were in the process of building Chandler Oaks Barn. Once again, I was offered a dream position. I cheerfully accepted the role as event manger for the Chandler family. We held our first event at Chandler Oaks in March of 2017. In 2024 we celebrated our 500th event at Chandler which was pretty incredible!
Planning, designing, florals, organizing details and connecting people brings pure joy into my life and I am so thankful for the gifts, talents and opportunities the Lord has blessed me with!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been an exciting and wild ride that has been beautifully and undeniably orchestrated by God. Sure, there have been bumps or hiccups as we took on new challenges or grew the team but without a little pain from time to time there is no growth! However, I have been so unbelievably blessed and the Lord continues to remind me that this is right where He wants me. Even on the hardest days my heart was built for hospitality.

We are a wedding and event planning and coordination firm additionally specializing in custom event floral design!
We are most known for our detailed timelines, calm, fun yet extremely friendly and professional team and our ability to execute floral designs that ‘exceed expectation’.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love our city! You’d have to pry our little slice of heaven out of my cold, dead hands before I’d ever leave it. I love that we are somehow just 30 minutes or less away from everything but above all – I love that we cohesively merge southern, old Florida with coastal charm.
I wish our water was more clear, beaches were cleaner and that there were less lunatics on our roads. Sorry, not sorry. Some of you didn’t grow up near 4wheelers or go-carts and it SHOWS!
