An Inspired Chat with Rebecca Bryant

We recently had the chance to connect with Rebecca Bryant and have shared our conversation below.

Rebecca, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
“My workday begins at 5:00 AM with an initial 60-minute preparatory phase designed for operational efficiency. This time is structured as follows:

5:00 AM – 5:15 AM: Personal preparation and coffee.

5:15 AM – 6:00 AM: Priority communication triage. I check emails to identify and immediately respond to urgent client inquiries and review the queue for any new quote requests.

6:00 AM: I transition to the primary client service task of making Disney dining reservations, ensuring I am online precisely at the critical booking window to maximize successful outcomes for my clients.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Rebecca Bryant, and I am an Independent Travel Consultant with Academy Travel.

I specialize in crafting magical and seamless vacations, with an emphasis on Disney, Universal, and cruising. I became a travel agent because I wanted to move beyond simply booking trips—I wanted to share my deep love of travel and help others create those truly unforgettable experiences they can’t wait to tell their friends and family about. I absolutely love my job, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than helping my clients turn their dream vacation into a reality.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
“The single most transformative relationship in my life has been becoming a mother. My son has been my greatest teacher, instilling in me a deeper understanding of unconditional love and hope. He’s refined my ability to prioritize and commit, teaching me the true meaning of putting someone else first. Through this experience, I’ve learned to fully immerse myself in the moment, savoring the good times and developing the resilience needed to power through any challenge.”

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could speak to my younger self, I’d say this: Embrace your scars and find confidence in your unique abilities. Life is rarely simple, but the journey itself is invaluable. Every challenge you face offers a critical lesson, making the entire ride worthwhile.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
“I fundamentally believe that happiness is a decision, not a destination. Many people mistakenly think money, fame, or even a large circle of friends are the prerequisites for joy. I see it differently: Happiness is a choice you make every morning. Even in the face of the toughest moments, you have the power to choose how you react—you can choose to seek joy, or you can choose to let circumstances tear you down. The control is entirely within your hands.”

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
“Ultimately, the legacy I aim to cultivate is one of unwavering kindness. My greatest wish is that when people reflect on our interactions, they remember me not just for what I accomplished, but for how I made them feel. I strive to be remembered as someone whose actions were always guided by genuine care and compassion.”
