We’re looking forward to introducing you to Chuck Pfoutz. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Chuck, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I always had a dream of living by the ocean. I sold everything, left a good-paying job, and decided to move to the East Coast to start a new chapter in life and career. I bought myself a beautiful new home just 30 minutes from the beach and got myself a job making three times what I was making in St. Louis. When I began this journey, I had planned on retiring and downsizing my life, but instead, I continued where I left off. I had no idea that there was so much ahead of me. I am truly blessed and looking forward to the continued blessings.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
In 2003, my Father bought me my first camera, and it was like being handed my birthright. I got started covering private events, and a decade later, I was traveling all over this country to cover the industry’s top events. A Magazine, A Fashion Series, and countless other endeavors, including 60 commercials, and over 115 events were produced by the company we call House of Chuck Magazine. In 2023, I decided to continue our amazing journey on the East Coast. 2025 has been our most successful year to date.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
During the Ferguson Riots in 2014. I saw for the first time in front of my eyes just how hurt and angry the world is, and that everyone wanted to get their stories heard.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
As a gay person living in a time when the world was once uninformed, it has now become informed. I have found that being a hobbyist or creative is the best outlet for me for healing my wounds. If you do not deal with the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed. I am finally healed after decades of torture, torment, and abuse.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Since 2013, I have been trying to make a visual album that is designed to heal your Mind, Body, and Spirit. When I moved to the East Coast in 2023, that project was finally put into motion. The team has already released Act I and will be working on Act II and Act III from 2025 to 2028.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I never gave up, or let people’s false perceptions become my reality. I was very dedicated to everything I have ever endeavored, and I hope people will remember how hard I worked to make all of my dreams come true.
