Meet William Morgan of Vagabond Coffee Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Morgan.

Hi William, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Like most of these stories, it started with a dream of doing what I love! Vagabond is so much more than a coffee shop for me and so many others. My wife, Samantha and I started Vagabond in our 20s with the dream of creating a business that brought life to everyone involved. We started out of our vintage 1963 Scotty Highlander camper, which I converted into a “coffee caravan”! From there, we opened our Murray Hill location almost 7 years ago, where we are a part of the community daily.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has been a journey. As a business owner in our industry, everything is rapidly changing, and with COVID on top of regular business, sometimes it can be hard to keep up. Trying to find the right team that fits in our coffee culture is always a challenge. But, at the end of the day, being a part of our community makes it all worth it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Vagabond is like no other! We are not just a coffee shop, we’re a place for everyone to feel welcomed and accepted. We know that we have an amazing, incredible product that stands on it own. I would say Vagabond is known for its coffee, baked goods and culture. What sets us apart, is we don’t strive to be anything or like anyone. We simply strive to be the best Vagabond we can be. We have an amazing website that you can order our coffee from and we can ship it right to your front door.

We are very proud of all that we do!

What makes you happy?
The top three things that make me happy:

1. My family. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my beautiful wife and two boys.

2. Conversations. I love the act of diving deep into the lives and experiences of others to hear and learn who they are and where they came from.

3. Bringing others together. Whether it is through coffee, community, events, I love being a part of people’s journeys and bringing them together.
