Today we’d like to introduce you to Hana Tucker.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
Born and raised in St. Augustine, I have been involved with the creative industry since High School. I do everything from photography and videography to marketing and blog writing. I specialize in nature and portrait photography and documentaries. I started fascinated by movies’ wild and creative storytelling world and wanted to learn how to contribute to the process. Today I work as a creative marketer for RE/MAX Leading Edge but always working on new projects.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been rocky; I’ve had to stick up for myself on many occasions regarding my identity, mental health, and watching the struggles of my friends around me. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to develop my art into something more personal and open up about the struggles some may face in the industry that I have seen or heard on all sides.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
A lot of my work is a showcase of finding one true self. I have done pieces that focus on what it mean to be a woman, I have done pieces on coming to a new country, and even a piece on becoming an adult. I am most proud of the long-standing relationships I have built with those I have met through filmmaking. What sets me apart is my desire to be there and present with those I meet and interview.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was riding in my grandma’s car after she picked me up from school when I was in PRE-K. I know this next part will sound extremely illegal, but she used to make her car trunk into a fort for me to lay in, and it was the best time of my life.
