Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Chufo.
Hi Kelly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have lived in Jacksonville since 2005 and am originally from Michigan. I am a retired Naval officer with 2 lovely daughters–1 at Belmont Law studying Entertainment Law and 1 at UCF studying to be a history teacher. After the Navy, I received my MBA from the University of Florida while working full-time. I completed my first yoga teacher training in 2011 and completed my advanced 300HR yoga teacher certification in 2019. While working a regular 9-5 job, I occasionally sub for teachers at one of our local studios. Eventually, I began teaching a regular class, left my “9-5”, and took ownership of Yoga Den San Pablo in May 2021. In October 2021, I couldn’t resist opening the 2nd studio in 32226, Yoga Den Yellow Bluff. I sold Yoga Den San Pablo in April 2022 and took ownership of Yoga Den Crossroads in July 2022. I feel truly grateful to be a vehicle for spreading the amazingly beneficial practice of yoga to all who roll out their mats with us!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
The universe constantly craves a balance of good and bad the catch is to remember to breathe on those bad days and spread your bounty on the good! Every small business owner experiences the ebbs and flows of opening a new storefront–the unknowns, the “never planned for,” and the key is to show up still just and be present. Make time for yourself away from the business and find ways to protect your peace!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
