Inspiring Conversations with Marzjhane McBride of Nae’s Puddin Treats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marzjhane McBride.

Hi Marzjhane, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
So Nae’s Puddin Treats was originated when I was assigned the task of making the banana pudding for the holidays. My momma loved it so much. She had her friends try it and they wanted to order their own personal pans. Once I got so much great feedback, I posted it on my social media and people started messaging me for orders. After being successful with my regular banana pudding sales, my sister gave me the challenge of creating a vegan banana pudding. We did a trial run, she loved it and wanted to add it as a dessert option on her food truck. One introduction to the customers and they were just as in love with my creation as everyone else. The rest is history… in the making of course, lol.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes for the most part, but a few kinks we ran into along the way. Small things such as working on getting the right consistency with the vegan banana pudding due to the ingredients being very different. I wanted it to be light and airy as opposed to it being a thick pudding. Also, the pricing points on what I would charge had me at a short standstill due to vegan ingredients being much more expensive than the regular ingredients.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nae’s Puddin Treats?
I specialize in making banana pudding treats. What sets me apart is the flavor of my simply sweet batter and the airy/lighter texture of the pudding. Those elements have drawn in individuals who are not really big fans of banana pudding. I’m most proud of being able to convert a delicious dessert into a vegan option as that’s not my specialty. However, offering a vegan option allows for me to consider everyone that I think would enjoy what I have to offer. I would like you all to know that I am working on expanding my pudding menu to include various flavors. I also will be offering catering services for my pudding treats as well.
