Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Calhoun.
Hi LaToya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Autumn Faith Company was born out of both hope and hardship. In 2021, my husband and I started this company in Jacksonville, Florida, as a way to raise funds for IVF after leaving a toxic work environment. What began as a small dream soon grew into something far greater — a mission to inspire others to grow through life’s most uncomfortable seasons.
As I began my journey as a life coach, I discovered that many people were struggling not just with external challenges, but with deep emotional and generational patterns that held them back. Through coaching, public speaking, and our inspirational apparel, I realized that growth isn’t meant to be easy — it’s meant to be transformative.
We teach people how to grow in the uncomfortable, because that’s where real change happens. Our goal is to help individuals become generational curse breakers, creating healing and legacy for themselves and their families.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been easy. We’ve faced seasons of slow sales, the challenges of finding consistent clients, and the difficulty of booking paid speaking opportunities. But we’ve kept going — by connecting with nonprofits, facilitating healing through art therapy, showing up at vendor events, and wearing our own message proudly.
Autumn Faith Company isn’t just a business — it’s a movement rooted in faith, resilience, and transformation. Every shirt, mug, and conversation carries a message: you can grow through what you go through.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth journey. We’ve faced slow sales and difficulties finding and maintaining consistent clients, as well as securing paid speaking engagements. And those are just the tangible challenges — the mental and emotional toll can be just as tough, especially during slow months.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a combat veteran, poet, and a passionate advocate for helping people discover their next best step in life. What truly sets me apart is my empathy, transparency, vulnerability, and authenticity. I approach all my work through a trauma-informed lens, striving to ensure that every interaction reflects understanding and care.
In addition to my advocacy, I write custom poems for any occasion—love, weddings, funerals, or empowerment events—crafting words that resonate deeply and leave a lasting impact. I am also a licensed notary, offering professional and trustworthy services to my community.
I’m most proud of the growth and freedom I’ve cultivated — both in myself and in others. I’ve learned that when I walk boldly in my own healing and freedom, I subconsciously give others permission to do the same.
You can also find me on YouTube, where I host Healthy Talks and Walks with Toya — a space for open, honest conversations about growth, healing, and everyday life.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck. I believe that everything happens at the right time and that all things work together for good. With this belief, I choose to stay prepared at all times. As the saying goes, “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.”
