Daily Inspiration: Meet Kay Kawada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Kawada.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
River Eight & CO was launched on August 1, 2020. It was quite a bumpy start, to say the least, but it became so necessary as I saw that there was a need to help fellow entrepreneurs to level up their personal branding photos especially as everyone just sat home scrolling.

It has always been a passion of mine to have a community and help others thrive with the mindset of the community over competition. Once I started to network, I saw that women needed guidance on how to present these images, and honing in on understanding their brand and who their ideal client is. That is when I also started coaching.

It is a great honor to help fellow women entrepreneurs and can’t wait to make it an agency.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well for one, I am a one-woman show and I also own another business. I struggle juggling family life, with four kids, and concentrating on my business. I also started this business at the height of the pandemic.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Oh, I love this question. I am a personal branding photographer! I specialize in women’s business, wanting to level up their online presence.

You are the face of your brand so make sure you look the part! I am proud to be part of a community where women fix each other’s crowns and not knock them down. What sets me apart is I am also invested in your business, help you promote, help you with business advice and help you reach your ideal client.

I don’t just shoot the photos, but I help you strategize it.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I would love to make this an all-women company with all different backgrounds. I’d love to create a safe place where we all thrive, laugh, and make enough where I can give everyone great benefits and salary.

I would love to be able to change people’s lives and use that platform to volunteer and those who are really in need.
