Conversations with Meghan Allen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Allen.

Hi Meghan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am the owner of a social media marketing business. I started my business 4 years ago when I was working in consumer packaged goods as an event manager. I worked with content creators in my role and started to wonder what it would be like to create content for brands and focus more on social media marketing. I took a leap of faith after building my brand by blogging about my life as a mom of twin boys. My business started to take off around the 6-month mark and I left my corporate job to go full time. Now, I’m coming up on my 4-year anniversary of running my company. I’ve worked with some great brands including the honest company, Leslie pools, Evereden and Frito Lay where I created summer-themed content during 2020 that was used in a national commercial.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say there are always bumps along the way when running a business. The biggest thing I’ve encountered was having to adapt to the shutdown in 2020. There weren’t a lot of clients looking for the normal type of marketing content so I started to work in videography and that’s how I changed our focus and grew the business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in creating content for my clients that evokes emotion and helps increase brand recognition. I consider myself a storyteller who helps create memorable stories for the brands I work with.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I also spend a large part of my time creating content for cause campaigns and nonprofits. I’d love to work with more local businesses that are giving back and helping them achieve their marketing goals.
