Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Barber.
Hi Dustin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Boyd, Texas. Parents bought me a guitar on my 8th Birthday. Started playing and never stopped. Started on acoustic, ended up getting an electric guitar and amp the following year.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course there have been obstacles and challenges along the way. I think it’s how we deal with them and what we learn from each difficult experience that gets us to where we are. The secret is believing in yourself even if other people don’t.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and owner of a production, entertainment company called Lions Mane Entertainment Productions. I specialize in playing electric guitar around the world as well as playing nylon string or classical guitar/ ukulele solo with my local projects The Conch Fritters, Steel Bamboo and Synchronicity with Barry Olsavsky.. I am known for playing electric guitar with famous artists and nylon string guitar, ukulele solo and with my tropical bands. Also known for my recordings and for playing electric guitar and occasionally leading praise and worship at my church The Well at Crystal Springs on Sundays.. I’m most proud of the relationships and music I’ve made along the way and my relationship with God and my family.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like that our city is a mecca and the birth place for many great artists and musicians from many different musical genres. That alone is very inspiring to everyone, especially up and coming artists and musicians. I don’t like that the Jaguars haven’t won a Super Bowl yet but hopefully that’s right around the corner.
