Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Orth.
Hi Evan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am originally from Jacksonville (not born here but grew up majority of my life here) and played QB at Fletcher High school from 2011-2013. I went on to be the starting quarterback for the University of South Alabama and I graduated in December of 2018. From there, I got married and moved to Jacksonville and started QB1 Athletics here in June of 2019. My desire was just to share my experience and football knowledge with the next generation and it was my way to stay around the game. I started with just a few quarterbacks and it quickly grew over the years. Now we have worked with hundreds in of QBs in Jacksonville and all the surrounding areas and are constantly growing. We are proud to help develop quarterbacks and see how quickly they progress in their skills. QB1 Athletics now has 4 other locations and consistently adding more in the Southeast.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any journey, building our business has come with its share of ups and downs. But through it all, our heart has remained the same: we want to see every quarterback thrive—on the field and in life. Overall, it’s been a rewarding process. We’ve worked hard to build a culture where athletes can grow, compete, and support one another. At training, everyone wants to get better, but just as importantly, they want to see the person next to them get better too.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently a PE teacher at Providence School of Jacksonville. I started a ministry called Quarterbacks For Christ in 2021 that is near to my heart. We currently do virtual small groups weekly and some in person events once per quarter. I also run the QB1 Athletics business so I am around athletics and ministry in basically everything that I do. So you could say that I specialize in quarterbacks development which leads to ministry opportunities to tell them about how Jesus changed my life and how he can change theirs.
What’s next?
For the future of QB1, we would love to just continue to do our best with all the quarterbacks that come to us and grow the brand. We will probably do more large camps throughout the year. We are also planning on doing Youth All-Skills Summer Football Camps in the month of June for the first time. Maybe add more QB coaches to our team to give the quarterbacks the best chance of success.
