Today we’d like to introduce you to LaSean Rice Jr
Hi LaSean, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began taking acting classes on my way out of serving ten years in the Navy. Since then, I have been in several productions on stage in theater, as well as films. Most notably, for the playing Andre in The Future Soul.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is never smooth. Sure there may be “smooth” times, yet it’s when the road isn’t so smooth that you really learn how to drive. The struggles of rejection, the struggles of not feeling you are enough, the struggles of truly deciding this is what you want to do, all make for an enduring road. Maybe it’s gets smoother when you overcome that.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actor. Mainly I have performed in plays and have done film. People have been recognizing me, more so, as Andre from The Future Soul. I am most proud of my work on the stage play, Sleeping with The Enemy. It was the first play I had audition for once I decided to pursue acting. I am set apart from others by the energy and spirit I bring to the production.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
The role luck has played in my life and business has been one of opportunity and chance. I have been grateful to where it has taken me and where it is heading.
