Daily Inspiration: Meet Tasha Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Brooks

Hi Tasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started practicing yoga around 2012 and quickly experienced its physical benefits. Over time, as I deepened my practice, I also discovered the mental clarity and peace it brings. In 2014, I began my yoga teacher training at Yoga Den, excited to share this healing practice with as many people as possible. I taught all over town before joining Yoga Den Avondale.

After a few years, Yoga Den decided to franchise the Avondale location—offering it to me because of my dedication to the community and passion for bringing students to the mat. Owning a Yoga Den studio has been an incredible journey. Even though COVID presented challenges, I pushed through because I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I love my community, I love yoga, and I feel so grateful that my passion never feels like work!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been smooth, with students who are incredibly flexible, go with the flow, and offer so much support. Every decision and change has been met with encouragement from the Avondale yoga community. I’ve always felt guided by Yoga Den, knowing that any questions or concerns I had would be met with help and reassurance. Because of that, I’ve never felt worried about any challenges that came my way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I own and operate a Yoga Den Avondale studio, where I not only teach yoga but also create a welcoming space for the community to grow, heal, and connect. We specialize in making yoga accessible to everyone, offering a variety of classes that meet students wherever they are in their practice. What sets me apart is my deep passion for building relationships—my studio isn’t just a place to take a class; it’s a supportive community where students feel seen, valued, and encouraged.

Owning a studio isn’t just a job for me—it’s a calling. I genuinely love what I do, and that passion shines through in every class, every student interaction, and every decision I make for the studio.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people have played a huge role in my journey, and I’m beyond grateful for their support. Alyson and Chip, the owners of Yoga Den, were my first mentors—they guided me through my training and gave me the confidence to step into teaching. Their belief in me helped shape my path as both a teacher and a studio owner.

My husband, Chad, is my biggest supporter—he’s there every step of the way, always willing to help, whether it’s volunteering at events, handling repairs, or just being my rock through it all. Stephen Joost has also been an incredible guide, helping me navigate the business side of owning a studio.

And of course, I have to give credit to all the Yoga Den owners and teachers—this is truly the best group of people to work with. Their kindness, dedication, and passion for yoga create such an uplifting and supportive environment, and I couldn’t ask for a better team!
