Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Amon
Hi Crystal, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began writing around the age of five, instantly captivated by the magic of storytelling. Over the years, that passion grew into a full-fledged career as a published author, blogger, and the owner of a writing business. A key part of my journey has been the guidance of my mentor, Lyn Lomasi, who has supported and guided me every step of the way. Her mentorship has been invaluable, and I highly recommend having someone like that in your corner to help you stay on course and elevate your craft.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Between 2002 and 2003, I was battling stage 2b cervical cancer. I chose to undergo an experimental treatment, knowing it was my best chance for survival. While enduring the challenges of cancer and its treatment, I also decided to push forward with my education. Despite the physical and emotional toll, I earned an associate degree in arts of business and later a bachelor’s degree in communications. The journey wasn’t easy, but it taught me resilience and the power of determination.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a freelance writer and published author, with a primary focus on crafting articles and blogs. Writing is not just my career—it’s my passion, especially when it allows me to help others. My specialties include freelance writing tips, motivational non-fiction, fantasy fiction, recovery and sobriety, pet care, and self-help. What sets me apart is my genuine care for others and my dedication to uplifting new writers. When someone reaches out for guidance on creating a blog or improving their craft, I’m eager to share my knowledge. Having benefited from the guidance of a mentor myself, I deeply understand its value and strive to pay it forward by supporting others on their journeys.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Lyn Lomasi of BrandShamans.com has been my biggest supporter and mentor from the very beginning. She has played a pivotal role in my success, cheering me on, teaching me the ins and outs of online writing, and helping me craft my website. Writing for the internet is vastly different from what’s taught in college, so having her guidance was invaluable. Lyn not only showed me how to navigate online writing and book publishing but also helped me understand the importance of marketing and branding in this space. Her support has been instrumental in shaping my journey and building my writing business.
