Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Johnson
Hi Kiera, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to Jacksonville from North Carolina with my family when I was 10 years old. Immediately I fell in love with the city. I was born in the small town of Kinston NC, so moving somewhere like Jax was life changing for me. Growing up I was very shy/reserved, but I have always been a creative person . After high school I went through a period of not really knowing what I wanted to do until my mom suggested I go to school to become an LPN. I became a nurse in 2018 and now almost 7 years into my career, I am a travel nurse . While I do love being a nurse it can be a very stressful job at times. I decided to use my social media as an outlet to show my creative side by styling clothes , doing make up, and vlogging. I’m proud to say I became a paid content creator this year ! I Absolutely love making content. I have I have connected with so many amazing people and have had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing brands and businesses. I am so excited to see what the future holds!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As I mentioned growing up, I was very shy and reserved, But I’ve always felt like there was something else to it. Years ago, I I learned that I have anxiety, which can be very crippling at times not only as a nurse, but as a content creator. At the age of 30 I realize how much I let my anxiety hold me back from following my dreams for so much of my life. There have been days where I felt. I couldn’t leave my home because I was just too overwhelmed with my thoughts and feelings . Fortunately, I have found ways to manage my anxiety and though every day is different, I no longer let it hold me back.
