Exploring Life & Business with Holly Pedroni of Dynamics Dance Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Pedroni

Hi Holly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started dancing at the age of 7 and haven’t stopped since. I never thought I would be 41 years into a business that was inspired by my love of dance. My first taste of the entrepreneurial world came when I was in 8th grade and the J.E.B. Stuart cheerleaders would bring me their piggy bank money and pay me to teach them gymnastics. From there I officially started teaching in high school at a couple of studios. I quickly realized how much I loved sharing my passion of dance and teaching others.

After high school I ventured out into the professional world and auditioned for various opportunities. I was offered a couple of different dance jobs, one with a venue that was under construction. So, while I waited for that job to begin, I resumed teaching. While I didn’t see it then, this was a pivotal fork in the road for me. The opening of that venue was delayed for a year and a half, and that delay is what led me here. When that job didn’t work out, Dynamics Dance Inc. was born. With the help of a lot of people, 41 years later, we are still in business and now on to teaching second generations of dancers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth it is ever easy. One of my biggest struggles was juggling family and business. Teachers, staff and of course my family helped me pull through.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dynamics Dance Inc.?
My studio offers a wide variety of dance genres, we truly have something for everyone. With over 50 classes a week, we have classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, gymnastics, clogging, hip hop, musical theatre, modern, stretch and conditioning, turns and leaps, and we even have 4 competition teams.

The studio has so much heart, we are truly a dance family. We welcome all with open arms. I am most proud of the feel that we give to people from the moment they walk in the door. I am also proud to be able to give back to our community by offering scholarships to deserving students and partnering up with local schools in various ways.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when I would stay at my grandmother’s house and she would play the piano while I danced and twirled around while wearing a petticoat on my head, I would always pretend to be a famous dancer or ballerina. Years later I found out that my grandmother actually played the piano at a local ballet school. That is a full circle moment for me.
