Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Rana
Hi Cassie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started back during my first year of college studying Psychology. I went into a cosmetic store and purchased makeup for the first time. I also was encouraged to apply by the store manager so I did. I got my first dslr Canon camera when I started my new job as well but I was only shooting as a hobby, for friends/family and when I’d be out in the nature.
Through going to college studying psychology to be a therapist to better help people feel better about themselves/situations, I realized once I graduated that that’s exactly what I had been doing all along, helping people feel better about themselves.
Once I graduated, I paused for 4 years to focus on some other things in life. After moving to Florida in 2022, I decided to start Cassie Rana Glow and fulfill my destiny.
It is my purpose in life I believe with my whole heart to create a safe space for people to talk about whatever they’d like to talk about with someone they can trust. I can’t legally call myself a therapist, but when people book me they can have the opportunity if they want to share with me whatever is on their hearts. Or on the not so deep side, we will be laughing together for sure!
It’s important for me that my clients and those around me feel comfortable, as if we are friends (plot twist they always become my friends). So when people get in front of my camera lens, they are relaxed.
Making people feel better about themselves, inside and out, enhancing their natural beauty through the power of hair/makeup and my camera lens.
I worked in the beauty industry for 10 years before starting my own business. I have always loved spending 1 on 1 time with people who come to sit in my chair. I love making others feel special and beautiful, because they are.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been smooth in the way that I have found my purpose/passion in life at an early age.
When it came to starting Cassie Rana Glow, it felt like so many people were encouraging me to choose one thing or the other. Hair/Makeup OR Photography. The idea that I couldn’t possibly master both made me want to do it even more. When you truly believe in yourself and what you have to put out into the world, you’re pretty unstoppable.
I have also had people tell me my makeup style is too natural, even though it is long wearing. I am thankful I have stayed true to myself because my clients do find me and appreciate the fact that I ask what they’re comfortable with. Not everyone wants eyeliners, false lashes and full coverage. So it’s very important my clients feel they are heard when they’re in my chair.
The hurdle right now is really just getting my business out there to more people so they know someone like me exists. I know I provide an amazing, one of a kind service, so it’s just letting more people know about it so they can take advantage.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love women portraits. I love giving the convenience and top tier full experience with Hair/Makeup followed by a Photoshoot. Whether it’s for themselves, a family photoshoot, business branding or something as special as their wedding day. The reason this is so special and different is because during the time I am getting my clients ready, we are getting comfortable with each other which in turn, makes the photoshoot that much more successful. Getting in front of the camera can be nerve racking even when you’re the one that books the shoot so it’s crucial to me that you feel like you can trust me to be yourself and not get nervous. I always ask my clients what they are looking for and really try to read their body language. Some clients need help “posing” while others have done this plenty of times before. No matter where my clients are on their confidence scale, they can feel relieved that I’ll be there to make sure they always look their best. No lipstick smudged, no hair out of place.
The 1 on 1 time my clients spend with me is not only a time for them to decompress, but a time for them to feel how beautiful and special they truly are. Giving the entire experience to my clients is what it’s all about!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Taking pictures and videos with our family camera growing up. Singing, dancing and acting. It’s still so much fun to reminisce.
