Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Thompson
Hi Cassie , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Starting at a young age, I have always appreciated a clear and well-organized space. I also always knew I wanted a career where I could help others in some way. That led me down the path of Mental Health and Social Work which I enjoyed. When I met my husband and we expanded our family, I really started focusing on how to use my gifts to help others organize their spaces. In 2013, Serene Spaces was born out of wanting to start my own business while also focusing on my growing family. This blended my love of organization with helping others. Since 2013, Serene Spaces has grown from a one woman show to a dynamic business with a whole team of organizers. We help families integrate new organizational systems to help their homes run smoother, we help businesses that are needing to tighten up their processes to generate more revenue, and we help people manage their moves and unpack and organize after recent moves. Serene Spaces may be growing, but I work hard to make sure each client gets the personal attention and exceptional service just as I did when my only employee was myself!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been some growing pains along the way but they have taught me a lot about myself and what I really want for Serene Spaces Professional Organizing. There are so many new technologies and apps out there to help small businesses that weren’t around when I started Serene Spaces. Navigating all of that while also working with clients has been difficult but the advances in technology are helpful. There have also been a lot of changes in the organizing industry since I began and I continue to educate myself and the team on industry standards and best practices.
As you know, we’re big fans of Serene Spaces Professional Organizing and Consulting, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own a Professional Organizing company that operates on a very personal level. We focus on helping you edit your items (which is more than just decluttering) to make space for what you truly love and what you want your space to be. We evaluate how you use your spaces and help determine the best place for things to be stored or showcased. What sets us apart is that we are exceptional at working in complex and cluttered spaces. I’m not here to just make a Instagram worthy space if it’s not going to work for your specific needs! Many clients are surprised that getting organized doesn’t always mean having to invest in all new containers or products. Since specific containment is sometimes key to a good organizational system, we make sure to source products that fit each of our client’s budget and aesthetic desires. We are a team of very empathetic individuals and we can help you in your organizing journey in a loving and kind way, while also keeping your goals, budgets, and specific design ideas in mind.
With backgrounds in mental health, education, and retail, we pride ourselves on guiding you to your goals. Serene Spaces offers a variety of services from unpacking and organizing your new home after a move, to decluttering, organizing, and decluttering and preparing your home for sale. We also offer maintenance packages for people who have utilized our services in the past and a membership plan for people who are looking to organize their entire home throughout the course of a year.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the rich culture and history in our city, “the oldest city”. We love hanging out at the beach, boating on the river, and kayaking to the Matanzas Inlet. We enjoy our local state parks and embracing the history here.
The area has changed a lot since we moved back here in 2017. Our area is experiencing some growing pains as more people discover how great this area is. With all things, change is hard and hopefully systems are being put in place to handle the increased growth and the impact on our schools, infrastructure, and businesses.
