Hidden Gems: Meet Jeremy Osborne of The Chef’s Stash Clothing

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Osborne.

Jeremy Osborne

Hi Jeremy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
The essence of The Chefs Stash Clothing thrives within the bustling kitchens of eateries worldwide. You can encounter a profound sense of fellowship and fraternity among the culinary staff wherever you relish your preferred cuisine. Chefs and culinary artists share countless hours in demanding settings, fostering a distinctive humor and cooperation akin to the military.

This ethos forms the bedrock of our company. The Chefs Stash was sparked by a passion that took root in my own team’s kitchen. One of my buddies would humorously adopt culinary jargon like “heard” and “yes chef” in his chats, serving as a lighthearted jab at the chefs during service.

The inception of The Chefs Stash traces back to when our initial batch of t-shirts, imprinted with the same lines we’d use in friendly banter, were handed out to the chefs for a laugh. The tees became popular, appearing at local bars and hangout spots after work. Other local chefs started noticing our gear and expressed interest in where they could get them. This marked the birth of The Chefs Stash, a brand that encapsulates the essence of a chef.

As these t-shirts started making their rounds within the community, they became a pride symbol. For a chef, spotting someone sporting one was an immediate sign of camaraderie. Someone who could connect with your unique perspective on life and understand what you stand for at least to a certain extent.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Our journey has been a labor of love. We produce as much of our clothing as possible in-house by hand. We approach our brand the same way a chef approaches a menu. Striving to produce the best products possible. Working a full time career as a chef, I often find myself packing up orders in the late hours of the night after the restaurant is closed.

We are a small company with humble roots, constantly reinvesting into ourselves to bring the most value possible to our customers. We began our company utilizing print-on-demand services during our first year as we got our feet underneath us. Afterward, we began gathering the necessary equipment to gradually transition our clothing to in-house production in the hope of having greater control over the quality and customer experience.

It has been a long transition but it is something we felt absolutely necessary if we were going to be committed to creating something truly special.

We’ve been impressed with The Chef’s Stash Clothing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What makes you happy?
Whether I am cooking in the restaurant or delivering clothing, I am the happiest when I see a smile on the face of a customer. It reminds us that we do what we do to bring other people joy.

Seeing somebody take their first bite of a dish you cooked them or seeing someone excitedly rip open their clothing’s packaging is unmatched. Knowing that something you created with your hands has made somebody else feel good, there’s nothing else quite like it.
