Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Broyles.
Hi Kayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Jacksonville in 2020, and like most young adults fresh out of college and in the middle of a pandemic, I struggled to find a career I was truly passionate about and clicked with. I have always been interested in art and design but studied environmental science and worked in a different environment. Searching for something that allowed me to be more creative, I began buying flowers, arranging and practicing the art of floral design, and immediately fell in love. The more I researched the world of weddings and flowers, the stronger I knew this was where I was meant to be. Early on in this process, my step-sister, who was recently engaged, asked for me to do her wedding flowers. This was the real push I needed to turn this hobby and passion into a career. I am so thankful for my family and friends’ endless love and support; they gave me the courage to quit my job and open this business- I thank them every day for this, as it was one of the best decisions of my life. Indy Florals officially opened in August of 2022, and it has been truly a dream.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I opened Indy Florals without any prior professional floral experience. I am completely self-taught. I spent countless hours learning about the floral trade and discovering my design style. Once I did this and felt confident in my work, I started taking on bigger and bigger events. I suffered from imposter syndrome in the beginning, despite the growth I had made already. I would feel so intimidated, but the other wedding vendors in Jacksonville are truly some of the kindest and hardest-working people I have ever met, and it has been a pleasure to be part of this community. Once I let loose and relaxed about being new, I learned to enjoy myself and let my work shine.

Indy Florals offers floral designs for weddings, events, and daily life. We specialize in weddings and service the Northeast Florida area. My work is a garden style, loose, romantic, and full of color, texture, and love. I love to use local florals whenever possible, sustainable mechanics, and unique blooms and foliage to make my designs distinctive. I love getting to know each of my clients and making their vision a reality. I strive for my florals to elevate space as much as possible and create a real impact. I am proud of how intricate my design process is- I examine every petal to ensure quality and constantly check in on my clients to review design plans and details to make their events what they dreamed of. I am proud the hard work pays off when I see the beauty and joy my designs deliver to each client.
