Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Olsson.
Hi Julie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been directing local farmers’ markets for the past ten years, working with local artisans and the farm community. While exposed to these unique creations by multiple small business owners, I developed the idea to assemble items from different artists to make unique gift boxes highlighting the local community and its talents.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My initial focus was to offer these boxes to realtors as possible thank-you gifts to their clients. What better way to introduce new residents to the local talents in their new backyard? My challenge at this point is to increase my pool of realtors and other business owners who could benefit from this service.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The sunflower is my logo and my brand because I see myself as the seed that produces the sunflower of many seeds, which are all the small businesses involved. As my business grows, I look forward to employing people such as human trafficking victims. I look forward to offering support and genuine care to those who need a leg up.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
All of my farmers market vendors are excited to participate in this new venture and believe deeply in its potential.
