Today we’d like to introduce you to Thor T Scheefer.
Hi Thor, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Welcome to the underground sounds of Thor Dj, aka Thor Thor. I am a Florida-based artist/Producer and DJ specializing in vast genres of Electronic Dance Music & Beyond. Exposed to the EDM Rave Techno Culture in the mid-’90s was exciting! I began collecting and mixing vinyl records on turntables, making mixed Cassette Tapes and CDs. It was fascinating to see vinyl evolve into Digital.
I am originally from Saranac Lake, NY. My favorite genres to Produce: Breakbeats (Breaks), many styles of House music Bass House, Funky, Tribal, Hard Dance, Techno, Drum, and Bass. I performed House parties, underground clubs, and warehouse Raves traveling to NYC, mixing parties, and going to shows in Montreal, Canada was epic growing up! My journeys inspired me threw Colorado to performing in Phoenix clubs events, even Comicon to Burning Man. 😉 After all this. I knew it was time to create the Thor Dj, aka Thor Thor Collection.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning the program Ableton Live with no one to vibe off of took a lot of work. Honestly gave up a few times! Thank you, YouTube tutorials. After ironing out everything and fine-tuning my technique. I teamed up with a Brother Duo (nonchalant) Florida to DC Natives. They help me master my finished material to accomplish that quality sound, teaching an old dog new techniques. We are also collaborating on some future projects; always a student. I also produce under Renegade Alien Records huge inspiration is a producer Renegade Alien aka RA. I began producing 10 years ago and quickly got a wake-up call to be a better producer. Having someone say your creativity is great, but your production needed work! This was the fuel needed to put the time in and create. Hearing the truth was the best thing that ever happened. Thank you, RA and nonchalant BroDucers! During all this, I stepped back and had the opportunity to raise my son through his high school years to graduate in 2020. This was the perfect time to focus, work hard, and create music.
