Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Cogswell.
Hi Kat, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello, my name is Kat Cogswell, I have wanted a snowball stand in New Orleans since working at them during college. I worked nights in the emergency room at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans when we got the snowball stand, so the plan was to get started in New Orleans with a day time stand. With the arrival of the pandemic It just did not work in our favor to open back home. We made the decision to move to our vacation spot in St Augustine, Florida and to open our stand here.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Yes, it has been pretty smooth opening here, now the obstacles are finding locations and events. New Orleans is snowball central. They are open year round and very busy.
It can be challenging, mainly desert trucks. As you know, we’re big fans of St. Johns Sneaux. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in stuffed snowballs. New Orleans-style snowballs are soft; we stuff some of our snowballs with ice cream. So they are more like deserts. We have several different toppings. We also have boozy snowballs, which have a hint of moonshine ice cream in the middle. I like to make special snowballs for different events like “sea salt mocha java”, “mudslide stuffed with boozy cheesecake ice cream”. We also have favorites like tigers blood. We cater to events big and small.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We love what we do. We are excited to grow in the community and become part of the local favorites!
