Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Betancourt .
Hi Natalie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A Legacy of Performing Arts Hi, I’m Natalie Betancourt, director of I Praise Productions Performing Arts Academy. I was born in New York in 1957 and raised in Puerto Rico by my amazing parents. Later, in 1980, I moved to Florida. I am a mother of three beautiful children and nine grandchildren. I am also a certified real estate agent qualified by the Children and Family Requirements to care for children.
My parents were accomplished performers and helped guide me to the path I am on today. My father was a man of many talents. He was a model, actor, ballroom dancer, and performing arts instructor. Sadly, he passed away in 2020. My mother was a famous dancer and choreographer known throughout Puerto Rico. She appeared on TV and even performed in theaters. Unfortunately, she, too, passed away in 2019.
I began intensive training with my mother to follow in my parent’s footsteps. During that time, I became interested in different types of dances. Later, I went to study at the Winnipeg Ballet School in Canada, the National Academy of Ballet in New York, Professional Modeling Course (graduated with Martha Hagman in San Juan, Puerto Rico), and Mercedez De Leon Flamenco School of the Arts located in Spain. I attended numerous dance competitions and conventions throughout my performing journey. Now 65 years young, I desire to leave a legacy of trained dancers, performers, and instructors.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening a business with services to a community always face struggles and rough roads. These struggles are experienced in work to reach out and let the community know of your services and presence. Once they meet me, the transparency and genuine self make my business a success. That only sometimes happens. However, through that process, I can learn about diversity.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a life and spiritual coach, also. With my gifts and talents given, in the Performing Arts and Modeling. By the example of my life and interacting with children and their parents, my business provides uplifting. I work with their self-esteem posture and provide and enhance their gifts and talents. We all are born with goodness, skills, and talents. The world suppresses us through bullying or past incidents. I am here to enhance what they all have. My proudest part of this service is watching these children, and their families propel.
What was you like growing up?
Love the arts since very little, bringing me struggles. However, they had become my lessons. As I explain my roots, I was always independent and transparent. That is the reason I am here now.
