Hi Britney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I love social media and moved to Jacksonville from Orlando on a marketing job offer I received back in March. In Orlando, permanent jewelry is popular, and when I moved to Jax, I noticed that no businesses specialized in permanent luxury jewelry. Most were cutting corners using “gold filled” or “gold plated,” and none of the welds were seamless. They all used a jump ring to connect the chain. The problem with gold-filled and gold-plated is that they will eventually tarnish, and nobody wants to have a piece of tarnished permanent jewelry. After I noticed the few businesses cutting corners, I turned to my boyfriend, Blake Ricchetti. He has been a jeweler for over 6 years and is now my business partner and said, “I love social media, and you specialize in fine jewelry. You would know where to source only the finest chains and seamlessly weld the chain together without a jump ring, and I can market the business. Let’s start a luxury permanent jewelry business.” That was when “LETS GET ZAPPED” was born. We found a shared studio space within a month and began posting on social media. This was back in late July, and cut to today, we have had immense success and just signed a lease to rent a private suite in Salon Lofts located in Jacksonville Beach on December 4th.
So many clients thank us for opening a luxury permanent jewelry business in Jacksonville, as they haven’t seen any with such amazing quality. We custom fit the chain to your wrist, ankle, or neck, depending on what you choose, then we seamlessly connect the chain and “zap” it making it permanent, and they are all finished! It’s a great experience with your best friend, mom, significant other, or yourself. We also offer group appointments.
Our zappings are appointment-based to ensure each client has their own personal experience without the distractions of others. We offer solid 14K & 18K yellow and white gold chains and sterling silver for clients to choose a permanent bracelet, anklet, or necklace. We are currently offering 14K solid gold VVS diamond charms made by Blake. In a time of fast fashion where most pieces are tarnished, many clients seek to own fine jewelry that is timeless, custom, and can be left on.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. However, initially, we did not expect to grow at the pace we have, and sharing a studio space was great, but we have now grown to a point where it’s time to have our suite. That is why we are excited to be renting a private suite in Salon Lofts located in Jacksonville Beach on December 4th.

What sets us apart in permanent jewelry is the quality of our chains being solid gold and clients getting a seamless weld. There are no jump rings involved, nor will it ever tarnish. Because Blake is a jeweler, he knows how to seamlessly weld the chain and only source the highest quality chains. We are proud that we have grown the company through social media without paid advertisement and solely through word of mouth. We love that our clients come to us because another referred them. Referrals are the highest form of compliment we could ever receive from our clients.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most of our clients are surprised that we have only been open for a couple of months because of the success we’ve had thus far. Blake and I genuinely love interacting with our clients and making each client feel special. We customize a welcome sign for each appointment, and our clients get excited seeing their names.
