Hi Katy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Coastal Coordinating over 12 years ago! It had started small with just planning friends’ and families’ weddings and then blossomed into a full team!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I always love to look at the positive and make the best of situations! Learning to grow a team and manage different departments was such a rewarding part! Starting a business can be tough, with a lot of turning points. Every year can bring different struggles. Right now, we are dealing with inflation, which can drastically affect the budgets/expectations; it’s all about being able to pivot!

Coastal Coordinating is an Event & Wedding Planning service! I want to think we are known for bringing a fun, creative, & team-oriented vibe to the wedding planning industry! It is awesome to work alongside my team and hear everyone’s ideas, visions, goals, and aspirations! It allows us to work to bring visions to life at weddings!
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I always say this is a team-oriented industry, not just within my company but all of the amazing wedding vendors that work together to have the most successful day! Each wedding vendor plays a HUGE role in making the event into what it is.
