Hi Ivory, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My Legal Name: Ivory Rakell Washington
Job title: Entrepreneur, Brand Ambassador Model an Actress
I was born July 8, 1992, in Albany, Ga. I was raised in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico for most of my life due to my father being military. I moved to Fl in 2009. I started my modeling career in 2013 working with local companies in the area building their brand. I am now working with some elite companies such as Fredrick of Hollywood, The Coolest Water, Zeelool, Wmcclothing, and many more. I also have done some acting in Studio Lambert in California with Vivica A Fox and The Doctors.
My business: Dr of Docs
I assist with helping people with their credit and locating apartments and Airbnbs.
And currently working on my Luxury Designer Line, Ivangra & Ivangri.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. It has been as it seems nothing but smooth. I have had to deal with a lot that some people would have never fathom due to me always having a smile on my face. A lot of people don’t know I lost my mother without losing her at the age of 15 in 2009 from MS and I have had to fend for myself every since and drop out of school to help take care of my siblings. I have had to work for people I didn’t wanna work for, stay with people I didn’t really trust, and sometimes fight for my own belongings while being there. Until one day I had enough and decided that I refused to live like this it was time to get my own. During the process, I was denied countless times due to lack of employment, No credit. When I was chosen to model, I got a lot of push back from that too due to how dark Skin and voluptuous I was. I also have had to go through people and family treating me different because I wanted to be in the entertainment world or business world due to my lack of education, but I persevered and didn’t allow that to stop me I keep pushing through until I found my light at the end of my tunnel.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dr Of Docs?
I am the proud owner of Dr of Docs, I am known for getting people approved when others can’t I change people’s dreams to reality.
I assist those who may need help with their credit, gaining a high school diploma, job placements, and notary services also assist with any legal Documentation.
I am most proud that I have found something that I love to do while helping others. It makes me feel so good when my clients reach out to me a let me know they got the job or they have been approved with my help.
What sets me apart from others and the reason why I do it. I have once been in their shoes and hearing the words no or not approved or not qualified doesn’t make a person feel so good. So I have learned and mastered something so I choose to share it with others.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
My views on risk taking are to try it with every risk it may end with a great investment.
I have taken countless risks. The biggest that I can recall is becoming a mother while so young and not knowing anything about motherhood and knowing that I didn’t have anyone to help take care of me or him and I was jobless and homeless, and I had to stay and work different places just to know that we were going to be alright.
