Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Lee.
Hi Sydney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was fifteen years old, my sister started a photography company with her husband. It sparked my interest, and my sister bought me my first DSLR camera for my 16th birthday. After that, I assisted and second shot weddings with her. About three years later, I opened up my own photography company called Auburn Hays Photo; specializing in weddings, families, and newborns. In 2020, my company rebranded to Lee Photo + Video as we launched our Videography services to clients.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Words can’t even explain how lucky I am to work full-time doing my passion. As much as I would like to say it’s been a smooth road the whole time, every road has a few bumps along the way. The Covid-19 Pandemic slowed my company down a lot in 2020. My job was not considered essential, and it immensely hurt my income. I’m so glad we have worked together as a country to climb over a huge obstacle, and we are back to everyday life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the owner of Lee Photo + Video; a photography and videography business. We specialize in weddings, events, families, couples, and newborns.
I am most proud of building a company from the ground up and getting so large to the point where I have brought on a team of great employees and friends to help experience all the magic of making memories.
I think my posing and fun, free-willing personality during a session is what sets me aside. My posing sets up my clients for very cute, candid photos that don’t look like they were even paying attention to me. My editing style sets me aside from others because it is rich in color, warm, and very bold. I spend an average of 40-50 hours a week editing galleries to make them look perfect.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My client’s satisfaction matters most to me! If it were not for my clients, I wouldn’t have the privilege of doing Photography full-time. I work hard to make sure what my clients’ vision is, what posing they prefer, and what location they will love for their photos.
