Hi Kelly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Kelly Cloninger and I am the Owner and Lead Designer of Aura Event Company. I started my business in 2019 and love every minute of it! Growing up, I have always had a strong passion for The Arts, Dance and would find myself drawn to all things creative and colorful.
Ever since I can remember, I had my hands in some kind of creative venture. All of my inspiration from traveling, experience in hospitality, arts, and love for a good party helped me build my dream job. I specialize in Event Design and Planning, Balloon and Art Installations, Custom Backdrops, and Party Rentals.
Getting to experience and help my clients on some of their most special days is my biggest passion. I love bringing a party to life and live for the reaction when a client walks into a room and just lights up with smiles upon viewing their event.
I want to make people feel good with my designs and create lasting magical memories. I am so happy to be growing with this amazing community and can’t wait to party with you!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most small businesses, I have definitely had some ups and downs on this entrepreneurial road. Shortly after I started Aura Event Co., Covid-19 hit and I also had a baby girl. I had no idea where the business would end up.
I kept pushing and promoting and Aura Event Co. Took off and has not slowed down since! With no experience in running a business, I have had my fair share of challenges but, I continue to learn and educate myself to be the best I can be.

As the owner of Aura Event Co., I’m here to help create the vibe you’ve always dreamt of for your Party, Wedding, or Event. I specialize in Event Design and Planning. I am best known for Balloon Installations, Custom Backdrops, and Styling Photo Moments.
I love working with my clients to create unique designs for their most special days. I am very proud of working with amazing organizations like Make A Wish Foundation, The Tim Tebow Foundation, and many other local businesses. I am also so proud to be a Mother to a beautiful little girl and hope to raise her to follow her dreams too!
I strive to continue to bring unique, out-of-the-box designs to our area and hope to make people happy through my art!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking?
I am definitely a risk-taker! I believe in following your dreams no matter how big, weird or scary they seem.
There will never be a perfect time to start so just go for it! My family and friends have always believed in me but, they also thought I was a little crazy for trying to make a living off balloons and glitter! One of the best pieces of advice I have gotten in life has been “The answer is no unless you ask.”
So go ahead and shock everyone. Take the risk or lose the chance!
