Alright, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Finding the right barber is a man’s never-ending life search. More times than not you find the right barber in an unpleasant shop or the perfect shop with the wrong barber. Our goal with Detailz Barbershop was to provide both, so we opened our first location on Jacksonville Beach on November 30, 2020.
We wanted to provide all the services for men’s grooming in a family-freindly barbershop. We also interview our barber candidates and check their references to ensure our clients get a quality service. My South Florida upbringing led us to look for a location on Jacksonville Beach, and we found a spot as close as possible to the ocean. We then thought about how cool it would be to have the décor encapsulate its surrounding neighborhood/area.
We took our business model and opened our second location at 4770 Barnes Road South Suite 5, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 on October 13, 2021. Putting our customers first and making sure we get the Detailz right has opened many doors for us.
We have been able to achieve all our goals due to an incredible and dedicated staff as well as the most supportive client base. Our neighboring businesses have been tremendously supportive. They shared the secrets to why the close-knit community of the beach has the reputation of being so supportive of locally owned businesses.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We opened our first location on Jacksonville Beach in November of 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. The main challenge we had was making sure we did not react too quickly to the changing business atmosphere or depending on pre-pandemic data/analytics.
As you know, we’re big fans of Detailz Barbershop. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We arrange hair to the liking of our clients. We provide the most current techniques in men’s haircuts, women’s haircuts kid’s haircuts, fades (high fades, mid fades, low fade, drop fades etc.), undercuts, designs, beard trims, straight razor shaves, hair coloring, enhancements, combover, hot towel shaves and much more. What we specialize in is getting the details right.
We put our customer’s needs first. The family-friendly, sports-themed, and relaxed environment allows for easement and reassurance. We provide an equally accessible marketing platform to all our barbers. No one barber stands out above another. We want to see all our barbers succeed and achieve all their barber career goals.
Detailz Barbershop brand puts customer service at the forefront of our business practice. We offer retail products for all hair types. The usages vary from pomade, shampoo, conditioner, and, but not limited to, beard oil. Walk-ins are always welcome, but we also provide priority booking through our website.
