Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Samuel.
Hi Christina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a radiation therapist and I treat cancer patients. I’ve treated so many patients diagnosed with cancer that have no family history, no genetic predispositions, they’ve not been around smokers, never smoked themselves, and yet they get cancer.
This led me to believe that our environment may be toxic. So I wanted to create a product that I love and is safe! I am obsessed with candles, so I decided to make candles that are going to be good for us.
One of my best friends was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer in August 2020 and passed away in January 2021. He pushed me to find my purpose in life and to go for it, so here we are!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’d like to say it was a smooth road but in all honesty, it was not. I started my business in the thick of Covid having to deal with supply shortages. As a maker, I was so focused on creating my products and did not realize the business side of it, such as accounting, business taxes, and tracking inventory.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Radiation Therapist who treats cancer patients. I’m known for empathy and commitment to excellent patient care. I am most proud of the way I advocate for my patients and that’s what sets me apart.
