Meet Dealyer Briggs of Nagozi Body And Skin Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dealyer Briggs.

Hi Dealyer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I would be using my hands in my career. In school the teacher would have us pick a career and present it in front of the class, I would always pick massage therapy there is healing in positive touch and I wanted to make people feel better from pain or tension.

After high school, I followed the norm and took general studies at the community college. I was being a young adult when I gave birth to my daughter and knew I wanted more for and myself so I enrolled in Pensacola state college’s massage therapy program and fell in love with the art that has always been within me that was 15 years ago.

I have worked for chiropractors and corporate spas both in Pensacola and San Antonio Texas. I recently relocated back to Florida where I have embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship having my own massage practice here in Jacksonville. My son had severe eczema from birth his skin would ooze I would have to wrap his arm up at the age of one-year-old to go to daycare. the doctors would not give him an allergy test until he was two years old so I had to keep intensive food journals to understand what was causing his breakouts and constant vomiting I did so much research that I became a wellness nutrition coach to help others understand and be aware of there bodies whether it be food, environmental, products or stress causing their bodies to have reactions.

After he turned two we received the allergy testing which opened our eyes to a better way of living because we now had blood testing and no more trial and error, but what came with that were dermatologists giving steroids to treat eczema. I did want my baby on that long term so in the kitchen I went to formulate natural skincare to improve his skin along with staying away from his allergy triggers. I guess you could say my kids changed my life to strive for greatness and focus on health and wellbeing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been full of ups and downs I wouldn’t call them struggles but lessons. I have learned so much over the years with relocating from Pensacola to San Antonio Texas now here in Jacksonville reconnecting to the community building relationships and growing practice from scratch the knowledge is and has been there but the confidence being the new girl building trust has always been my growing stage and change can be so uncomfortable.

Building confidence in myself trusting my intuition knowing I am worthy and giving the best life to my kids. Balance in life was hard to find at first somehow I lost myself in providing for my children, clients, friends, and family. Knowing I prioritize my time which even though I slowed down to breathe and take care of myself has somehow made everything I may face solvable because I take care of myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
