Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Gavin.
Hi Cindy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been in real estate since 2002. It is something that I had been wanting to do for several years, and before my 40th birthday, I set out to get my license. I had chosen to stay home with my children for several years and decided it was time to get back into the workforce.
So just before my 40th birthday I took the real estate course and passed. Soon after I joined my first brokerage. In my 19 years in the business, I have been co-owner of a real estate franchise and started and opened three offices. Obtained my Brokers License in 2005. Started a team in 2009 and have grown the business substantially over the past 12 years.
Today my team and I are in the top 1% of agents in the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors. I have been with RE/MAX since 2015 and I attribute a large part of our success to the tools that RE/MAX provides for Teams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road along the way. I have managed to stay in this business during the highs and lows. I survived the downturn in 2008 and still continued to be productive and turned my business towards helping those that were underwater by navigating them through a short sale.
The current market we are in also has its challenges. While it is great to be a seller, being a buyer in this market is challenging. My team and I work with buyers and educate them on where the market is. We have a high success rate of winning out in multiple offers situations.
