Life & Work with Father Nicholas Louh of Jacksonville, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Father Nicholas Louh.

Hi Father Nicholas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As we worked to bring our Parish and home of worship to the Southside of Jacksonville,
from the St. Nicholas area where we were for over 50 years, we as a community knew that
we wanted to also bring a gathering place for the Jacksonville Community as a whole.
Community is very important to me and the St. John the Divine family, and we work
tirelessly to ensure we are bringing the best version of our venue to the forefront daily.
St. John Event Center was thoughtfully designed to host a wide array of memorable events,
from weddings and birthday parties to conventions, expos, fundraisers, our Annual
Jacksonville Greek Festival and more. Located in a scenic, park-like setting, our venue
blends indoor elegance with outdoor charm, featuring a serene courtyard with Grecian
columns and a picturesque water feature. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or
a grand celebration, our versatile spaces create the perfect backdrop for all of life’s special
moments.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Wouldn’t that be nice. Smooth. No. Like any new business, we had to work really hard to
ensure that we were providing what our community needed. Each event hosted here has
taught us and continues to teach us the needs of our community. Our goal is to better our
venue every day, so we can be the best option for our local leaders, corporations, families
and nonprofit organizations. We want to share our home. And our overall goal is to give
these groups something they can call home as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is centered on helping people discover their purpose, strengthen their faith, and
navigate the challenges of everyday life with hope, compassion, and practical guidance. I
serve as the Senior Priest of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Jacksonville,
where I have the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through some of
life’s most meaningful and difficult moments.
I specialize in pastoral counseling, spiritual growth, leadership, motivational speaking, and
helping people connect their faith to their everyday lives. I am also passionate about
bringing people together across different backgrounds and faith traditions through
interfaith dialogue, community service, and a shared commitment to making our
community a better place. In addition to my pastoral work, I serve in community and faithbased leadership roles, and speak to audiences throughout the country through retreats,
conferences, radio, and other media.
What I am most proud of is the opportunity to positively impact people’s lives—not simply
through what I say, but through relationships, service, and helping people recognize that
they have a purpose and the ability to grow through life’s challenges. Through my work with
my wife, Dr. Roxanne Louh, we have also been able to bring together spiritual and
psychological perspectives to help people pursue meaningful, lasting change. Our books,
speaking, radio programs, and daily inspirational messages are all extensions of that
mission.
What sets me apart is my focus on making faith practical and accessible. I believe faith
should not remain something we practice only inside a church—it should influence how we
lead, how we treat others, how we handle adversity, and how we find purpose in our daily
lives. My goal is always to meet people where they are, listen to their stories, and help them
take the next step forward with faith, purpose, and hope.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve others through my ministry and community work,
and through our venue. I believe that when we invest in people, build bridges across
differences, and lead with compassion, we can create a stronger and more connected
community. My hope is that through everything we do here, at St. John the Divine and St.
John Event Center, people feel encouraged, valued, and reminded that they are never alone
on their journey. We love being a part of your story and we would love to welcome you to
our home!
