Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Brooks.
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in the 80’s and was addicted to music as a kid. My mother told me I said I wanted to be Michael Jackson when I grew up. I started playing guitar at 12 and have continued ever since. I played live for almost 20 years until I had an accident which injured me and prevented me from continuing to play live. I have turned to creating AI assisted music which I have written a plethora of original lyrics for. My recent project is an anonymous Suno creation I’m placing on streaming services later in August.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing about doing what you want is soothing. I’ve played gigs for free or for people who don’t pay attention. But I’ve enjoyed the rough road, it’s given me interesting stories. The accident I had has changed my route from a gigging musician to a writing musician which has been more amicable.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I had a remote career that I was let go from about 2 months ago that I wont go into, however my artistry pulled in extra income from bar gigs, weddings, and corporate events. I’m proud that I was able to maintain a gigging career during the most of my music time but as I’ve gotten older it’s faded and I’ve enjoyed just writing and recording.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’ve mainly worked solo recently but I’ve aways enjoyed collaborating with people who simply reach out and ask. I also enjoy if people stream my original pieces on Spotify or Apple music.
