Inspiring Conversations with Courtney Robinson of Cee Kakes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Robinson.

Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Cee Kakes began in 2015 in my junior year of high school when I decided to make cupcakes for my grandfather’s birthday party. Afterwards, we had so many leftover i decided to take them to school and i sold out before 2nd period. Then Cee Kakes was born and now has blossomed into a safe space to INDULGE in the sweeter things in life. My company prides itself in executing exquisite confections that can be enjoyed by all ages.
Cee Kakes started in Jacksonville, FL and has expanded to Tallahassee, FL, Atlanta, GA and beyond. My mission is to ensure ALL people can indulge in my baked goods and will be satisfied with every bite. Since 2015 Cee Kakes has been providing “a little sassy with a dash of sweet”.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Managing a baking business while growing from a teenager into a young adult has not been easy. Losing my grandparents was especially difficult, as my grandmother was a major inspiration behind my love for baking. I grew up helping her in the kitchen and watching her create delicious treats for our family.

Balancing school, work, and my business meant many late nights, stress, and little sleep. Despite the challenges, it was always worth it when I saw the joy my baked goods brought to others. Those moments reminded me why I started and inspired me to keep going.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cee Kakes. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Cee Kakes specializes in cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and other decadent baked goods. What sets us apart is our bold flavors, unique combinations, and our signature Cee Bricks—our famously oversized brownies.
What I’m most proud of is watching Cee Kakes grow into something bigger than I ever imagined. Hearing someone say, “Oh, I know you!” or “I’ve heard of your business!” is a feeling that is hard to put into words.
Every customer who supports Cee Kakes can expect quality, decadence, and consistency in every bite. Most importantly, I believe great baked goods are for everyone, regardless of background or demographic. My goal is to create treats that bring people together, leave a lasting impression, and keep them coming back for more.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice to anyone starting a business is: stay focused, stay consistent, and don’t wait, go for it! Obstacles will come, and while it’s easier said than done, you have to find a way forward instead of letting challenges stop you.
I wish I had believed in my business more when I first started. I saw it as something that brought me happiness and peace, but I was so focused on thinking like a business owner that I sometimes forgot to enjoy the journey. I’ve learned that you don’t have to choose between passion and business, you can build something successful while still allowing it to bring you joy. Sometimes, that passion is what keeps you going when things get difficult.
