Today we’d like to introduce you to Anamaria Mani.
Hi Anamaria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in the beauty industry started before I ever became a service provider. I worked at makeup counters, where I developed my passion for beauty, connecting with people, and helping others feel confident. At the same time, I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which gave me a strong foundation in branding, social media, and business.
When COVID happened, I saw an opportunity to take everything I had learned and build something of my own. I took the steps to become a beauty service provider and started growing my business, eventually offering services like permanent makeup, lip blushing, lash lifts, and brow services.
As my business grew, I realized that I loved the business and marketing side just as much as the beauty side. I started creating content, educating other beauty professionals, and helping them with their own businesses and social media.
My journey hasn’t been completely linear. I’ve experienced slow seasons, learned from mistakes, adapted, and continued to evolve. Becoming a mom also gave me a new perspective on what I want my career to look like and pushed me to explore content creation, education, and opportunities that give me more flexibility.
Today, I’m proud that what started during COVID has evolved into something that combines all of my passions beauty, marketing, creativity, content creation, and entrepreneurship. I’m still growing and figuring out what the next chapter looks like, but I’ve learned that building a business is really about being willing to evolve with it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think that’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a business owner. Building a business from the ground up came with a lot of trial and error. There were seasons where I questioned myself, struggled with staying consistent, and had to figure out how to attract and retain clients while also learning how to run a business.
The beauty industry is also constantly changing, especially with social media, so I’ve had to learn how to adapt and continue finding new ways to market myself. There were times when business was slower than I expected, and it was easy to compare myself to other people who seemed to be growing faster.
Becoming a mom brought another layer to that. I had to learn how to balance motherhood with my identity as a business owner and figure out what I truly wanted my career to look like moving forward.
Looking back, though, I’m grateful for those challenges. They forced me to become more resilient, get more comfortable with change, and realize that success doesn’t always mean staying on the same path. Sometimes it means allowing your business and your goals to evolve as you do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work has evolved quite a bit over the years, but at the core, I’ve always been passionate about beauty, creativity, and helping people feel confident. I’m a beauty professional specializing in permanent makeup and beauty services, including lip blushing, lash lifts, brow services, and other natural-looking enhancements. I’ve also expanded into education, content creation, and helping other beauty professionals with the business and marketing side of their careers.
I think what sets me apart is that I’m not just a beauty service provider. My background in marketing, combined with my experience working in the beauty industry and building my own business, has allowed me to look at beauty from both a creative and business perspective. I understand what it’s like to be behind the chair, but I also understand the importance of branding, content, social media, and building a business that actually feels authentic to you.
I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown and evolved since starting my business during COVID. I’ve had to constantly learn, adapt, and reinvent myself, and I’m proud that I’ve never stopped looking for ways to grow. I’m also proud of the community I’ve built through sharing my experiences, educating others, and being open about both the exciting and challenging sides of being a business owner.
Ultimately, I want my work to inspire other women to realize that they don’t have to fit into one box. You can be a beauty professional, a business owner, a creator, a mom, an educator, and so much more and your career can evolve with you.
How do you define success?
To me, success isn’t just about how much money I make or how big my business becomes. Success is having the freedom to create a career and a life that genuinely feels aligned with who I am.
When I first started my business, I thought success meant having a full schedule and constantly growing my client list. Over time, my definition has changed. I now see success as being able to grow, evolve, and create opportunities for myself while still having time for the people and things that matter most to me.
I also believe that failure is a huge part of success. I’ve learned to embrace the moments when things don’t work out as lessons rather than seeing them as failures. Every setback has taught me something about myself, my business, and what I want moving forward. Those experiences have made me more resilient and willing to take risks and try new things.
Most importantly, I want to be successful while still being myself. I don’t want to feel like I have to change my personality or fit into a certain image to grow. Being authentic, sharing my sense of humor, and not taking myself too seriously are a big part of who I am. I want people to connect with the real person behind the business.
Ultimately, success to me is building something I’m passionate about, inspiring other women to pursue their own goals, embracing the lessons that come with failure, and creating a life that gives me purpose, flexibility, and the freedom to be completely myself.
