Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Hayes.
Hi Alexis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was young I had always been drawn to being creative at school. I love arts and crafts and doing the project boards when it came time, my favorite part was decorating. I always liked making things so it felt just like something natural, I didn’t actually do anything with it or focus on it until college. I had an extra elective so I chose art because I knew something that I was passionate about. With that we started to do projects and create pieces and I made a Instagram account to post some of my work and for the first time ever someone reached out to me to present my art in a show called Black Magic : Live Art Show and it’s been up ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing notable besides the typical artist’s block or occasional critique
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
If I had to nail it down, I would say I specialize in Home decor. I’ve done commissions for paintings, pillows, smoke trays, canvas tote bags —- I’m probably forgetting something. I think the best part about what I do is being able to make an idea a reality for other people.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Everything changes; make art anyway.
