Today we’d like to introduce you to Jax Wine Crew.
Hi Jax, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Jax Wine Crew started in 2017 with three friends—Nicole, Natalie, and Sandy—who loved wine, loved exploring new places, and loved finding fun experiences wherever we went. We realized there wasn’t really one place in Jacksonville where people could easily find wine events, wine specials, and wine-friendly spots, so we decided to create the resource we wished we had.
What started as three friends sharing wine finds has grown into a community of more than 3,000 Crew Members. The best part? There’s no membership application, no fees, and no wine knowledge required. If you follow us, you’re automatically part of the Crew!
Today, we share local wine events, wine specials, restaurant recommendations, and fun things happening throughout Jacksonville and beyond. We’re not a traditional wine club, and we don’t host official monthly meetups—we’re more like your wine-loving friend who keeps you in the know. We create the calendar, share the events, and encourage our Crew to get out there and experience them with or without us.
Since our last interview in 2022, we’ve continued to grow and expand our own wine adventures. We’ve been fortunate enough to explore amazing destinations like Bordeaux, Argentina and Napa. Every trip reminds us why we started Jax Wine Crew in the first place—the best wine experiences are about the places you visit, the stories you collect, and the people you share them with.
Our goal is to keep expanding the Crew, create more opportunities for wine lovers to connect, travel to more wine regions around the world, and continue shining a spotlight on Jacksonville’s growing wine scene.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If we’re being honest…no one tells you that growing a fun wine page comes with spreadsheets, calendars, group texts, and about 4,000 “Where are we meeting?” messages. 😂
Since Jax Wine Crew started as something we genuinely loved doing for fun, one of the biggest challenges has been balancing growth with everyday life. Keeping up with events, creating content, responding to messages, and making sure we’re sharing things our Crew will actually enjoy takes time and a lot of organization.
Another challenge has been growing while staying true to who we are. We never wanted Jax Wine Crew to feel intimidating, exclusive, or like you had to know the difference between every grape varietal before joining in. Wine should be fun, approachable, and enjoyed by everyone.
As we’ve grown, we’ve also had the opportunity to partner with more local events and businesses to help spread the word about exciting things happening in the wine community. We’re proud that we don’t charge for advertising or promotions. We share these events because we genuinely want people to know what’s happening and have more opportunities to connect, explore, and enjoy Jacksonville’s wine scene.
What matters most to you?
Wine is what brought us together, but the community is what keeps us going. Our favorite part of Jax Wine Crew is seeing people discover new places, try something outside of their comfort zone, and connect with others they may not have met otherwise.
We love being able to introduce our Crew to local businesses, hidden gems, wine events, and experiences they may not have found on their own. Whether someone is a longtime wine lover or someone who just wants to try something new, there’s a place for them.
At the end of the day, Jax Wine Crew is about creating connections, encouraging people to explore, and reminding everyone that life is meant to be enjoyed. The wine is just the bonus. 🍷
