Check Out Lacey Tyson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Tyson.

Hi Lacey , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Line dancing has been a part of my life for almost 20 years. Back then, every Thursday night you could find me out on the dance floor and it’s even how I met my husband Jimmy at Bourbon Street Club. I grew up dancing ballet, jazz, and on the dance team at Bartram Trail High School, but line dancing has always had my heart. When line dancing made its big comeback, I dusted off my boots and started dancing again. Last April, while practicing between classes at Training For Warriors, where I’m a coach, one of my clients said, “You’re so good at that, you should teach.” Something just clicked. I went home that day, created Lacey’s Line Dance Lessons, and it took off from there. Since then, I’ve taught at elementary school dances, rodeos, birthday parties, farms, corporate events, and monthly classes. My favorite part is seeing people of all ages come together, laugh, smile, and have fun. That’s what it’s all about.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, yes it’s been a smooth road! Teaching has come so naturally to me because I truly love it. It never feels like work, and seeing people smile, laugh, and have fun is the best part. When you love what you do, it makes it easy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my classes, I teach three dances each time, ranging from beginner to intermediate, so there’s something for everyone. One of my favorite events was at Wells Farm in St. Augustine, where we hosted a dinner and line dancing for two hours. It was such a fun experience, and I’m hoping to be back there this fall.

One of the best compliments I receive is that I explain everything step by step and make it easy to follow, even for first-time dancers.

I’m also proud of being able to balance it all. I’m a wife, a mom of three, and I work part-time as a coach at TFW, while still finding time to practice and stay up to date on the latest line dances. It’s busy, but I truly love what I do.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I stay up to date on the latest dances with YouTube and TikTok tutorials.
