Check Out Dian Williamson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dian Williamson.

Hi Dian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I love all things fashion and beauty. From a little girl I loved collecting fashion magazines that my grandmother would bring home. I dreamt of being like the fancy ladies I saw in the photos. When you walk into my store I want you to feel the vibes of old Hollywood glamour girl.

I’ve actually been in the women’s boutique industry for over 10 years, having stores in the Bahamas, Orlando and now Jacksonville FL.

I recently added makeup application after losing my mom in 2024. She was my world, I would always style her and do her makeup for special occasions. She also worked in my boutique and at vendor shows with me.
We had the most beautiful relationship and I treasure that through my work.

I love it here, the women I’ve met are so beautiful and kind. I cannot wait to see all the amazing things that will happen over the next few years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has not been easy financially. My business is 100% self funded. Holding on to my business and dreams have definitely been hard at times, especially with the constant change in the economy over the last few years. The biggest challenge I would say is finding grants or help for small businesses in the community.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love to support women in every area of their life, that’s why I decided to add makeup to my boutique offering. At Becoming The Woman Boutique you can find the perfect outfit and get your makeup done all in one place. It’s convenient and affordable. I believe that beauty starts from within and shines outward. I help to bring out that beauty, that sometimes get lost in all that we do as women.

I also have the most beautiful Prayer Circle of women that includes women from all over Florida and the Bahamas. We gather twice a year to pray & recharge.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
To the women just starting out in business, please know that you must be passionate about the journey. It’s unique to you. Take it one day at a time and give yourself grace. Things will fall into place overtime. Lastly, If it’s something that you truly love, keep pushing.
